Wedding cake delivery checklist

Confirm the supplier entrance

Guest arrival instructions are often different from supplier access. Ask where the delivery vehicle can stop, whether a loading dock booking is required and how far the cake must be carried.

Mention stairs, narrow lifts, long corridors, security check-in or restricted parking before the price and setup plan are finalised.

Have the cake table ready

The table should be stable, level, dressed and in its final position. Make sure the backdrop, linen and stand are ready before the cake arrives.

Choose a place away from direct sun, heaters, open doors and crowded walkways. A beautiful location is not useful if it puts the cake at risk.

Coordinate flowers and other suppliers

If fresh flowers are being placed on the cake, confirm when the florist arrives and who is responsible for preparation and placement.

Give us the coordinator's name and mobile contact for the wedding day. The handover should not depend on finding an unnamed staff member in a large venue.

Keep the written plan with the order

Record the agreed delivery date, time window, address, setup work and recipient. Tell us promptly if the venue or timing changes.

After handover, the venue should know where the cake must remain, when it will be cut and whether any decorative elements need to be removed first.
